India have qualified for the Asia Cup 2025 final.
The same gestures were made by Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf when they were crushed by India for the second time in the 2025 Asia Cup, in the Super Fours stage this time in Dubai on Sunday. Rauf had made similar jet-crashing gestures and ‘6-0’ signs towards Indian fans in the stands, though his side lost the game.
During India's match against Bangladesh on Wednesday night, Naqvi took to X and fanned the flames once more. The head of the ACC, who oversees the tournament's operations in Dubai, replicated Haris Rauf's actions, which have already sparked harsh condemnation on social media.
Naqvi supported Pakistan's unverified allegation that it shot down six Indian jets during the two nations' border escalation. Following the Pahalgam terror assault, India and Pakistan engaged in cross-border warfare. Operation Sindoor was initiated by the Indian government to target the terror camps in the LoC and across the border.

The first India v Pakistan game in the 2025 Asia Cup was played on Sunday, September 14, and it was a huge controversy creator as India captain Suryakumar Yadav refused to shake hands with Pakistani skipper Salman Agha.
Then Indian players didn’t shake hands after defeating Pakistan in Dubai in the Group A game; instead, they closed the door of their dressing room while Pakistani players waited on the ground.
Meanwhile, India defeated Bangladesh on Wednesday by 41 runs in Dubai to qualify for the final of the Asia Cup 2025. Bangladesh will now play Pakistan at the same venue on September 25 in what will be a virtual semi-final, with the winner of the match playing India in the final on Sunday, September 28.
