A group of spectators were evicted from the Sydney Cricket Ground on complaint of racial abuse.
KL Rahul, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammad Shami have condemned the racial abuse with Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj during the third Test of Australia tour.
According to the reports, Mohammed Siraj was called 'brown dog' by Australian spectators at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The Cricket fraternity has come out in support of Siraj, taking a strong stand against racism.
Rahul posted a tweet and called the incident shameful and unacceptable. He said there should be mutual respect irrespective of race and nationalities.
"Today's incident at the SCG was shameful and unacceptable. We play cricket to entertain and no sportsman or individual should ever have to face this kind of situation. No matter our race or nationalities we must respect one another and unite in the fight against racism!", he tweeted.
Umesh was upset over the happening in Sydney and he demanded strict action on the matter. "What happened at the Sydney Cricket Ground is totally unacceptable. I urge the officials to look into this matter and take necessary actions. ????????", the tweet read.
Shami reacted to the tweet of BCCI secretary Jay Shah and said he's happy to see the stand from BCCI. He posted, "It is disappointing to see the shadow of racism being cast over such great cricket Down Under. I’m happy that @BCCI is standing up to such discrimination #TeamIndia".
Rahul, Umesh, and Shami were also part of the India squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy but they got ruled out after suffering an injury.
