India team had a staggering outing on their tour to Zimbabwe. The KL Rahul-led side whitewashed the opposition 3-0 and it was an exhibition of high-class batting and bowling performance from them.
While they won the first two ODIs easily, Zimbabwe gave them a tough fight in the third game and at one point it almost seemed that they would win the match. The hosts first restricted India to a total of 289 and then with the bat, they nearly pulled off the victory as they reached close to the target and fell short by just 15 runs.
Brad Evans had a sensational outing in the third ODI for Zimbabwe. With the ball, he returned with career-best figures of 5 for 54 and then with the bat he played a crucial knock of 28 runs that kept his side in the hunt.
After the match, Evans addressed the press conference and he surprised many when he brought Shubman Gill’s jersey with him. He revealed that he had requested the Indian opener to do a jersey exchange ahead of the start of the final ODI and also narrated how big a fan he is of him.
“Yeah for sure (he was one of the factors in deciding the series) Going into the series, I was one of his biggest fans, that's why I got his shirt and now I'm playing against him. He is a world-class player. Even from the first game, you could just tell...
“For example, when he gets a single, he hits it hard exactly where he intends to. That's a skill and it comes after years of practice. I just sometimes watch him in awe 'this guy is so good.' That's a reason I'm a fan. I watched him on TV in the IPL and in Australia when they won that Test series... That's a reason I'm a fan. To play against him was awesome," Brad Evans said.

Notably, Gill won the Player-of-the-Series award and was the best batter among both teams. After registering scores of 82* and 33 in the first two ODIs, he made sure that he continues his good form and smashed his maiden international ton.
The right-hander ended with the score of 130 runs in 97 balls, including 15 fours and 1 six to his name. He was the leading run-scorer in the series with 245 runs in the three matches to his name.
