India batter Shubman Gill was the toast of the visitor’s innings in the ongoing third ODI against Zimbabwe at Harare on August 22, 2022, as he hit his maiden ODI century helping India put up a commendable total on the board.

KL Rahul, India's captain won his third toss in a row and decided to bat first. Deepak Chahar and Avesh Khan were included in the team in place of Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj.

After Shikhar Dhawan (40) and KL Rahul (30) added 63 runs for the first wicket on the used pitch, Shubman Gill led the charge and added 140 runs with Ishan Kishan for the third wicket. Kishan made 50 in 61 balls with 6 fours before getting run out.

He continued to play wisely and reached his maiden ODI century in just 82 balls and got out only in the final over for 130 runs in 97 balls with 15 fours and 1 six to his name.

When he reached his century, Gill celebrated the milestone in an epic way as he took a bow while facing the Indian dressing room, as they gave him a standing ovation.
