Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar has suffered an injury again, which could put his tour of Zimbabwe in jeopardy. Sundar had previously injured his bowling arm while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) during IPL 2022, missing a lot of cricket.

The 22-year-old all-rounder is part of India's squad for the three-ODI tour of Zimbabwe, starting on August 18. Earlier, he opted to play in English county cricket to regain match fitness and has been in good form for Lancashire so far.

Notably, Sundar played two matches for Lancashire in the County Championship 2022, scoring 52 runs and taking eight wickets, and then took three wickets in the first two matches of the ongoing One-day Cup, but a shoulder niggle may prevent him from playing the rest of the matches in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Lancashire Cricket Club has confirmed that Sundar injured his left shoulder while fielding during a One-Day Cup match between Lancashire and Worcestershire on 10 August.

The all-rounder landed heavily on his left shoulder while fielding, while the extent of his injury is yet to be known.

Lancashire Cricket tweeted: “Washington Sundar has left the field after receiving treatment on his left shoulder following a heavy landing.”

Notably, Sundar has not played for India since an ODI series against the West Indies in February 2022.
