RCB women's team receiving guard of honour | ScreengrabRoyal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) finally tasted success in franchise cricket as the Smriti Mandhana-led women's team went on to clinch the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 title on Sunday (March 17).

While the RCB men's team has not been able to win the title over the last 16 years in the IPL, the women's team managed to pull it off in their second attempt.

The WPL triumph will certainly lift the morale of RCB men's team ahead of the IPL 2024 season. After RCB’s win over Delhi Capitals in the final, star batter Virat Kohli was seen cherishing the moment with Mandhana and her troops over a video call.

On Tuesday (March 19), Kohli and other RCB men's team members appreciated their women's counterparts by giving them 'Guard of Honour' at the unbox event.

Talking about Virat Kohli, he recently returned to his homeland after embracing fatherhood for the second time. He arrived at the Mumbai airport last Sunday.

Kohli had pulled out of the India-England Test series citing "personal reasons." Subsequently, it was revealed that he took the break to attend the birth of his son in UK.

Kohli will return to action in the IPL 2024 season, starting on March 22. RCB will begin their campaign in the tournament opener against defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
