Mumbai Indians (MI) became the first franchise to qualify for the playoffs in the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL 2023) thanks to their unbeaten run thus far as they have won all five matches.
The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team defeated Gujarat Giants in their latest league stage match on March 14 and made it into the playoffs.
As they move closer to the finals, MI boys Ishan Kishan and Cameron Green came for a press conference-style interview to talk about their franchise’s performance and favorite players in WPL.
Cameron Green asked Ishan about the last WPL game, to which he said that he enjoyed it as MI got a wicket on the very first ball. Kishan revealed his top 3 favorites from MI, who are the captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Yastika Bhatia, and the woman with a golden arm Saika Ishaque.
He added that Mumbai Indians boys might be there to support their team in the WPL finals.
When Cameron Green’s time came to answer some questions, the MI rookie said that he feels awesome about the love shown by the fans and that the support staff is great. He further added that the WPL will have a similar effect as IPL had for men’s cricket.
When Kishan asked him if MI will win the finals, Green said: “No doubt!”
Green and Kishan were both part of their respective Australian and Indian squads for the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, which India won 2-1. The duo were present at the Brabourne stadium to support Mumbai Indians in their match against Gujarat Giants.
