Delhi Capitals’ Jemimah Rodrigues left everyone stunned with a remarkable catch in Match 7 of the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL) against Mumbai Indians at DY Patil Stadium on Thursday (March 9).

Opener Hayley Matthews was the victim of Jemimah’s spectacular grab during the 12th over of MI’s innings.

In her attempt to smash medium-pacer Alice Capsey over long off, Matthews hit the ball high up in the air. Jemimah covered a lot of ground before she dived forward to complete the catch.

Coming to the match, Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by eight wickets to strengthen their position at the top of the points table.

Asked to bowl first, MI bundled out DC for a paltry 105 in 18 overs as Issy Wong (3-10), Saika Ishaque (3-13) and Hayley Matthews (3-19) ran through the batting line-up with three scalps each.

In reply, MI rode on Yastika Bhatia’s 32-ball 41 and notable contributions from Matthews (32) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (23*) to overhaul the target with five overs to spare.
