The opening match of the inaugural edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) has been rescheduled with a delayed start at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday (March 4).

The match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants will get underway at 8 pm IST, 30 minutes later than the scheduled time.

The opening ceremony of the WPL will start at 6:25 pm IST, an official release from the T20 tournament said. The reason for the delayed start is not known.

The toss for the first-ever WPL match will take place at 7:30.

"The gates will open for fans at 4.00 PM IST and they will be able to witness the grand opening ceremony which will start at 6:25 PM IST," the release said.

Bollywood actresses, Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani, are set to dazzle fans across the globe during the opening ceremony. Renowned signer AP Dhillon will also perform during the grand opening ceremony.
