The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is leaving no stone unturned to make the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) a huge success.
The tournament, featuring five teams, is all set to kick-off on March 4 at the DY Patil Stadium with a blockbuster clash between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians.
Ahead of the first game, a star-studded WPL opening ceremony will take place at the same venue in Mumbai.
Bollywood actresses, Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani, are all set to dazzle fans across the globe during the opening ceremony, WPL confirmed through a tweet.
WPL also confirmed that renowned signer AP Dhillon will perform during the grand opening ceremony.
In its first edition, the Women’s Premier League will stage a total of 20 league matches and 2 play-off games that will be played in a duration of 23 days.
The final of WPL will be held at the Brabourne Stadium on March 26.
