The WPL 2023 Auction has seen some amazing and exciting bidding processes with Smriti Mandhana going to RCB for INR 3.40 crores and Natalie Sciver being bought by MI for INR 3.20 crores being the two costliest buys this far.
There was a huge excitement for the players from the Indian women’s senior team and some of them lived upto the hype as Jemimah Rodrigues, and Shafali Verma both went to Delhi Capitals.
However, the big name of Harmanpreet Kaur got DC, RCB, and MI into a bidding war which was finally won by MI at INR 1.80 crores.

And she is likely to captain the side as well, as per the Twitter post made by MI.
Not only this, but Harmanpreet’s Indian teammates were also quite excited when her name came up for auction and as soon as MI confirmed her buy, everyone clapped and jumped to celebrate, while the skipper smiled hugely.
The second big name to get a franchise was pacer Renuka Singh, who has been leading the Indian attack for the past year or so. She had a base price of INR 50 lakhs and DC and RCB got into it with each one increasing the bids. Finally, she joined Smriti Mandhana at RCB for INR 1.5 crores.
She was also sitting in the room with her teammates and as soon as it was confirmed that she will be going to the RCB franchise, the entire team mobbed her and celebrated.
