Jhulan Goswami named mentor of Mumbai Indians WPL team; Charlotte Edwards to be head coach

Owners of MI franchise bought the Mumbai WPL franchise for INR 912.99 crores.

Jhulan Goswami to be mentor and bowling coach of MI women's Franchise | GettyIndian bowling legend Jhulan Goswami has been appointed as the mentor and bowling coach of the Mumbai Indians women’s franchise in the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL 2023) season.

The Mumbai franchise was bought by Indiawin Sports Pvt Ltd, part of Reliance for INR 912.99 crores.

On Sunday, February 5, 2023, the MI announced that former England captain Charlotte Edwards will be the head coach of the women’s franchise with Devieka Palshikaar, an all-rounder, who represented India at the international level, will be the batting coach. Trupti Chandgadkar Bhattacharya will be the Team Manager. 

Jhulan Goswami retired from international cricket last year with 44 wickets in 12 Tests, a world record 255 wickets in 205 ODIs, and 56 scalps in 68 T20Is in a career spanning two decades.

I look forward to working closely with our coaches and the entire team on this very exciting journey ahead.”
