Indian team left the playing arena because the 30-yard circle wasn't marked out.

India players leaving the field | FanCode/ScreengrabThe start of the third T20I between India and West Indies on Tuesday (August 8) got delayed owing to a bizarre reason.

West Indies skipper Rovman Powell won the toss and opted to bat first at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

After the Indian players entered the field, they looked at each other aimlessly and eventually left the playing arena because the 30-yard circle wasn't marked out.

The match was supposed to start at 8 PM IST, but it got delayed by at least five minutes as the ground staff hurriedly came back on the field to put the markers.

Taking to social media site X, veteran India spinner R Ashwin shared his thoughts on the delay as he wrote: “Unique delay! It’s not an easy place to tour for reasons like this. As a cricketer one has to be switched on all the time and always expect the unexpected.”

Having lost the first two T20Is, India are trailing by 2-0 in the five-match series. It is a must-win game for the visitors to stay alive in the series and they made a couple of changes – Yashasvi Jaiswal replaced Ishan Kishan while Kuldeep Yadav came in for Ravi Bishnoi.

"Don't mind chasing. Obviously would've preferred to bat looking at the surface. Might get slower. It is what it is. Pooran has been batting very well. Would like to keep things simple to him, rather than trying a lot of things. Two changes, Yashasvi makes his debut, Kuldeep comes in for Bishnoi. Ishan misses out," India skipper Hardik Pandya said at the toss.
