Former India captain Virat Kohli had a gala time in the first Test against West Indies as with the bat he scored a gritty 76 as the Rohit Sharma-led side defeated West indies by an innings and 141 runs to go 1-0 up in the two-Tests series.
Yashasvi Jaiswal with 171 on his Test debut and Rohit Sharma with 103 were the heroes with the bat, while R Ashwin picked 12 wickets with the ball, with Ravindra Jadeja also getting 5 wickets.
For West Indies, debutant Alick Athanaze impressed with both the bat and the ball.
However, the match was also in news for Indian team players’ antics on stump mic as Ishan Kishan was a livewire during the entire game with his comments on fellow players leading to hilarious reactions.
But Virat Kohli was also not behind as he was also seen chattering with Kishan when last man Jomel Warrican was wildly swinging the bat in hopes of scoring some quick runs against Indian spinners as the visitors were one wicket away from the win.
Kohli expressed surprise with Warrican’s shot off Jadeja and was caught on the stump mic saying, “Ye Koun see batting Kar Raha hai.”
