Former India opener Aakash Chopra stated that he feels Virat Kohli will end his drought of overseas centuries in red-ball format in the upcoming two-Test series against the West Indies, which begins on July 12, 2023, in Dominica.
The India tour to West Indies begins with two Test matches as part of the 2023-2025 ICC World Test Championship cycle. Windsor Park in Dominica will host the first Test match from July 12-16 while the second Test will be played at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad from July 20-24.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra said that the wait for Kohli might finally come to an end in the series.
"It is a very interesting thing that Virat Kohli has not scored an overseas Test century for five years - the last time it came was in 2018 after that an overseas Test century hasn't come. So that wait might end in this series,” Chopra stated.

West Indies is one place where Virat Kohli has struggled in Tests, scoring only 463 runs in 9 Tests albeit with a double-century to his name.
Chopra insisted that the focus will be on Kohli during the series against the West Indies, starting with the first Test in Dominica.
"If you see otherwise, his numbers are good against all teams, but the West Indies and England are the two teams and places where his numbers are slightly lower based on his standards, they are very good based on other people's standards. So the focus will be on Virat Kohli,” Chopra added.
