Following the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia last month, the Indian cricketers were on a much-needed break.
India’s next assignment is the tour of West Indies, where the team is due to play two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is.
For the all-format tour, Team India arrived in the Caribbean island on Monday (July 3). After landing in Barbados, the Indian squad and the backroom staff had a beach volleyball session.
It was quite an enjoyable session as fast bowler Mohammed Siraj sported the Portugal Cristiano Ronaldo 7 kit, while star batter Virat Kohli shared a fist pump with head coach Rahul Dravid. On the other hand, wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan played the role of a cameraman.
“We’re thankful for the team management to get two days for the boys to fight jetlag and we hit the ground running from tomorrow. We just had a light NEC recreation day and that’s about it,” Soham Desai, the Indian team’s strength and conditioning coach, said in a video posted by BCCI on Twitter.

India’s tour of West Indies will get underway on July 12 with the two-match Test series in Dominica. The tour will conclude on August 13 with the fifth and final T20I in Florida.
