India won the third T20I of the five-match series against West Indies on August 2nd and took a 2-1 lead in the series. The hero for the Indian team proved to be Suryakumar Yadav, who scored his first half-century while opening the innings for Men in Blue.
Rohit Sharma had won the toss and chose to bowl first. West Indies put up a competitive 164/5 in 20 overs with Kyle Mayers top-scoring with 73 from 50 balls. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked two wickets, while Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh took one scalps each.
In reply, Suryakumar Yadav hammered the Windies bowlers to all parts of the Basseterre ground, hitting 76 in 44 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes to his name. Amongst those brilliant shots was one particular hit off Alzarri Joseph.
The West Indies pacer tested Suryakumar with a pacy bouncer and the batter nonchalantly ramped it over the wicketkeeper for a four.
