Indian captain Rohit Sharma retired hurt when on 11 during his team's chase of 165 in the third T20I against West Indies in St. Kitts. Rohit felt something after running a single following a four and six off Alzarri Joseph.

The Indian physio Kamlesh came onto the field and after consultation for few minutes, Rohit decided to walk off, probably as a precautionary measure.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued an update on the captain's injury with a short statement on Twitter, “Team India captain Rohit Sharma has a back spasm. The BCCI medical team is monitoring his progress.”

With a gap of only three days before the back-to-back games scheduled for August 6 and 7 in Florida (USA), it remains to be seen whether Rohit will take the risk of playing in the remaining two matches of the T20I series as a very hectic schedule awaits India ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia. More updates can be expected on his back injury in the next day or two.
