Former Indian cricketer Pragyan Ojha on Wednesday (20th July) named four players who deserve to feature in the upcoming ODI series against West Indies.

Team India are slated to lock horns against West Indies in the three-match ODI series, slated to be played from July 22 to July 27. The visitors will field a second-string side as the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant have been rested for the three games.

The squad will be led by senior opener Shikhar Dhawan and with frontline players being rested, it’ll be a great opportunity for youngsters to make their mark and make their case strong.

With the likes of Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Deepak Hooda, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson and Arshdeep Singh all in the side, it remains to be seen who will feature in the XI.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Pragyan Ojha said that he wants to see Deepak Hooda playing for the India team as he proved his mettle. He also wants to see Suryakumar Yadav cementing his place in the side.

"I wish to see more of Deepak Hooda, because he has shown a lot of promise. He has overcome a lot of hurdles in domestic cricket and made his place in the Indian team. I am curious to see how he performs. Suryakumar Yadav is a little senior, but he is still making his place in the team, I want to see how these two players do in this series," Pragyan Ojha said.

Ojha said that he wants Sanju Samson, Hooda and Arshdeep Singh to play in the ODIs against West Indies. He lavished rich praise on the left-arm pacer, saying that he has great skills and temperament.

"Sanju Samson, Deepak Hooda and Arshdeep Singh are the players I want to see being given an opportunity in the series. I have been impressed with Arshdeep's bowling, not only skill, but also the temperament with which he bowls. He has bowled well in slog overs in high-pressure matches. It would be interesting to see what mark he leaves if he is given a match to play," he said.
