2018 was one of the toughest years for India in Test cricket as they played most of the Test cricket outside India and toured South Africa, England, and Australia.
India's journey started with a three Tests series in South Africa which they lost by 2-1 and then toured England for five Tests series in July - August and once again team India put up a fight but their efforts weren't enough and they lost the series by 4-1.
In both South Africa and England India's overall batting performance were disappointing and except captain Virat Kohli no one could do well, though the pace trio of Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami were outstanding and they continued their good work in Australia as well and helped to take a 2-1 lead in the ongoing series and need to win/draw the new year Test in Sydney to clinch their first ever Test series on Australian soil.
