Abhishek Sharma was the stand-out performer for Team India during their recent Asia Cup 2025 triumph in the United Arab Emirates.
The left-handed opener took the opposition attack to cleaners right through the continental event, amassing 314 runs from seven matches at a strike rate of 200 and an average of 44.85.
In particular, Abhishek was severe on the Pakistani bowlers, returning with swashbuckling knocks of 31 (13 balls), 74 (39 balls) and 5 (6 balls) in the group-stage, Super 4 and final matches respectively.
Despite his unprecedented dominance against the arch-rivals, out-of-favour Pakistan pacer Ihsanullah has claimed to get the better of Abhishek Sharma within six deliveries. He further stated that it would take him only three deliveries to dismiss Sharma.
“Abhishek Sharma mere samne 6 ball se jyada nahi tik paayega. Main usse teen ball main out kar doonga,” Ihsanullah said in a video going viral on social media.

Abhishek Sharma has played 24 T20Is so far, scoring 849 runs at an incredible strike rate of 196.07, including two hundreds and five fifties. Despite being aggressive in his approach, the southpaw has managed to maintain an impressive average of 36.91 as well.
Abhishek’s next challenge will be the tour of Australia, where the Men in Blue are slated to play five T20Is from October 29 to November 8.
