Arshdeep Singh is often the subject of praise from everyone due to his bowling, but this time, he was lauded for his exploits with the bat. This came after he contributed hugely with the bat as India A defeated Australia A in Kanpur in the third one-day match to clinch the series 2-1.
The match was played on October 5 and saw Australia bat and put on 316 runs, thanks to 64 by Cooper Connolly, 73 by Liam Scott, and 89 by captain Jack Edwards. For India, Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana picked three wickets, and Ayush Badoni took two wickets.
In response, Prabhsimran Singh gave the Indian chase a good start with 102 in 68 balls with seven sixes and eight fours. Shreyas Iyer and Riyan Parag made 62 each, but Australia A made a good comeback. In the end, Vipraj Nigam’s 24* and Arshdeep Singh’s 7*, with one six, took India A home by two wickets.
After the match, Arshdeep Singh posted a video on his Snapchat, talking about the game, and Abhishek Sharma stated that his knock was great and even stated that he was reminded of the great West Indian batter Chris Gayle.
In the video, Abhishek was seen laughing as he complimented Arshdeep’s late-game heroics. “Watching you bat reminded me of Chris Gayle,” Abhishek said with a grin, leaving the left-arm quick stunned.
Ravi Bishnoi, too, joined in the fun, claiming that his respect for the pacer had gone up after watching him perform with the bat under pressure.
