The first Youth Test between India U19 and Australia U19 got underway at the Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane and saw Australia batting first after winning the toss.
Steven Hogan made 92 and Zed Hollick made 38 as Australia U19 was bowled out for 243 runs in the first innings. Deepesh Devendran picked 5/45, while Kishan Kumar took three wickets.
In reply, India posted 428 runs in their first innings thanks to centuries by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Vedant Trivedi, while Khilan Patel made 49 runs. Trivedi made 140 with 19 fours, but the Australia U19 were rattled by Sooryavanshi’s amazing knock of 113 in 86 balls.
His century came in just 78 balls as he gave India U19 the perfect start. He hammered 9 fours and 8 huge sixes, showcasing his fearless batting and ability to dominate the opposition bowling. This ton was the fastest in a Youth Test in Australia.

This was Sooryavanshi’s second century in a Youth Test, and he became only the second batter after New Zealand's Brendon McCullum to score two centuries in under 100 balls in U19 Tests. Previously, he had scored a 58-ball effort against Australia U-19 in Chennai last year, which remains the second-fastest Youth Test century ever recorded, just behind England's Moeen Ali.
In Youth One-Day International (ODI) cricket, the devastating left-hander just shattered the record for the most career sixes. Sooryavanshi achieved this milestone by surpassing the long-standing record of 38 career sixes set by former India U-19 captain Unmukt Chand.
