
Salman Nizar produced an exhibition of power hitting as he smashed 11 sixes off his last 13 deliveries during a Kerala Cricket League match between Calicut Globsters and Adani Trivandrum Royals at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday (August 30).
Nizar aggregated 40 runs in the 20th over bowled by Abhijeeth Praveen where he hammered six sixes while the remaining four runs came off a wide and a double on a no ball.
During the penultimate over, Nizar wreaked havoc on Basil Thampi, hitting him for five consecutive sixes before taking a single off the last delivery.
Salman Nizar finished unbeaten on 86 off just 26 balls with the help of 12 sixes, propelling Calicut to 186/6 in 20 overs.
In reply, Adani Trivandrum Royals’ innings folded for 173 in 19.3 overs as Calicut Globsters emerged victorious by 13 runs. Akhil Scaria took three wickets while Harikrishnan and Ibnul Afthab returned with two scalps each.
