Actor Avneet Kaur, who has been in the limelight in recent months over an unexpected social media storm involving Virat Kohli, finally broke silence on the episode at the trailer launch of her upcoming film 'Love in Vietnam' on Monday (August 25).
When a reporter asked about Avneet about receiving attention from prominent names on social media, she responded with a smile: “Milta rahe pyaar... Aur kya hi keh sakti hoon (May I keep getting the love... what more can I say).”
The controversy had erupted in April this year when Kohli accidentally liked a picture of Kaur in a lime-green crop top and skirt on Instagram. The screenshots of the same went viral on the internet, prompting speculation and memes.
As the discussions gathered pace, Kohli himself issued a clarification on Instagram Stories. “I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding,” he wrote.
Virat Kohli may have called it a glitch, but the incident gave Avneet Kaur’s brand profile a significant push. Her follower count shot up by a million and she bagged multiple new endorsements.
