Rishabh Pant, who has been ruled out of cricketing action for six weeks after breaking his foot during the recent England tour, turned chef and showed his cooking skills by preparing and baking a pizza from scratch.
Pant attempted to bake in a video that was posted on his social media accounts, where he hilariously mimicked an Italian accent. The adventurous batter excitedly embraced his new persona while attentively following the chef's directions.
“I’m looking like a chef only. Today I'm gonna show you how to make pizza. Bear with me. I think I'm gonna make a vegetarian Pizza. I love vegetarian food, but I don’t know how to put the truffle man. I think if I make more Pizzas, then I will be sorted. It’s very hot in here, boys. That's the only thing I can do with a broken foot right now: baking pizzas. My mother must be thinking I’ve never cooked anything at home, but I’m making pizzas here,” said Pant in a video shared on his social media accounts.
Rishabh Pant had suffered a foot fracture when he was hit on his right foot by a Chris Woakes yorker during India’s first innings in the fourth Test in Manchester. The wound began bleeding, and he had left the field on a medical cart.
However, after receiving medical attention in the hospital, Pant walked out to resume his innings from 37 and made 54 runs, helping India put up a good total. Pant finished the series with 479 runs from four matches at an average of 68.42 with two hundreds and three fifties to his name.
He became only the second wicketkeeper-batter after Andy Flower to hit two centuries in the same Test. He achieved the feat in the first Test of the series at Headingley, Leeds.
