India pacer Harshit Rana was fined by the Delhi Premier League authorities for his animated send-off to the batter in a recent DPL 2025 match. North Delhi Strikers, captained by Harshit Rana, faced off against West Delhi Lions at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on August 11.
Rana’s aggression already got him fined twice in the IPL 2025 for breaching the code of conduct; once he was fined 100% of his match fee for his send-off to Abishek Porel, and then he was banned for one match.
But Harshit Rana's inherent impulses have not been suppressed by these suspensions and fines; in the most recent Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, his fiery personality was once again on display.
Harshit Rana, the captain of the North Delhi Strikers, put forth his best effort to assist his team in protecting the 165-point score against the West Delhi Lions. As his team won by 11 runs, he came back with figures of 1/33 in four overs. In the third over of the innings, Harshit got rid of Ayush Doseja.
After clean bowling Doseja, Harshit Rana signaled towards the left-handed batter, asking him to make his way back to the pavilion. The pacer pointed fingers, gesturing the batter to go back, but his animated send-off had been noticed by the DPL organizers.
For violating the Delhi Premier League Code of Conduct, the captain of the North Delhi Strikers was fined 10% of his match earnings. There was no need for a formal hearing because the pacer acknowledged the offense.
“Harshit Rana admitted to the Level 1 offense under Article 2.5 (using language, actions, or gestures that disparage or could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player in the match) and accepted the match referee's sanction,” the DPL's official statement read.
The match between the West Delhi Lions and the North Delhi Strikers in the 2025 DPL was intense. Two more players were disciplined by the organizers for violating the Code of Conduct.
Yajas Sharma, a batsman with the North Delhi Strikers, was given a 20% deduction from match fees for using audible profanity during play. However, for the same offense, West Delhi Lions batsman Krish Yadav was also penalized the same percentage of match money.
The pair accepted the Level 1 infraction under Article 2.3 after the match referee applied the punishment.
