Indian women's cricket team star Harleen Doel was dismissed in a bizarre manner during the first ODI against England on Wednesday (July 16) at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.

Batting at No. 3, Doel looked all set for a big score before a 'brain-fade moment' led to her dismissal that has become a talking point on social media.

During the 22nd over, Harleen tried to take a single off Charlie Dean's bowling with Harmanpreet Kaur at the other end. It looked like the batter safely reached the crease despite a direct hit from Davidson Richards.

However, the on-field umpire called for a review and the replays showed that Deol made a silly error of not grounding her bat or feet when the ball hit the stumps.

Here’s the video:

Coming to the match, India defeated England by four wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

Sneh Rana (2-31) starred with the ball as the visitors restricted the hosts to 258/6 in 50 overs. During the chase, Deepti Sharma stole the show with a brilliant half-century (62* off 64) as India overhauled the target with 10 deliveries to spare.
