In a 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) game against the San Francisco Unicorns on Tuesday, June 24, MI New York batter Michael Bracewell had to return with a sheepish smile and a red face after inadvertently attempting to review a clean-bowled. In a significant 47-run setback for the New Yorkers, he was out for a golden duck.
Romario Shepherd, who had dismissed the well-set Quinton de Kock on the previous delivery, bowled to Bracewell on the second ball of the 17th over. Bracewell attempted to swipe a skiddy straight ball off his off-stump to the leg-side, but he missed the bounce, allowing the rock to slip beneath his blade and clatter the off-stump.
Bracewell then witnessed Romario rushing off in subdued excitement as the on-field umpire raised his finger. The New Zealander made the "T," believing he had been given out LBW, and was instructed to turn around. When he realized his error, all he could do was smile.
