MI New York pacer Trent Boult was involved in a comedy of errors that eventually resulted in his run-out in a Major League Cricket (MLC) fixture against Texas Super Kings in Oakland on Friday (June 13).
Boult hopped a few times but failed to return his bat inside the crease in time as a video of the same went viral on social media.
The incident unfolded in the penultimate over of the innings bowled by Adam Milne as Tajinder Singh nudge to the third man region for a single.
With Boult attempting to steal a second, Tajinder had stopped him but the left-arm quick had landed his bat inside the crease before taking off. He hopped before running again and Devon Conway whipped the bails off before Boult could regain his ground.

Boult also saw the funny side of his run-out, as he reacted to the video clip on Instagram.
Coming to the match, Texas Super Kings emerged victorious in a thrilling encounter. Riding on half-centuries from Calvin Savage (53) and Devon Conway (65), the Super Kings a competitive total of 185/6 in 20 overs.
In reply, MI New York openers Agni Chopra and Quinton de Kock perished for single-digit scores. Monank Patel was the top scorer for their side with a 44-ball 62, while Bracewell (38) and Kieron Pollard (32) chipped in with crucial contributions.
It all came down to nine needing off the final over and Daryl Mitchell delivered an outstanding six balls to script a three-run win for the Super Kings.
