England swashbuckling batter Jacob Bethell talked about the impact and learnings he had while playing with the legend Virat Kohli for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the recent IPL 2025 season.

Bethell made a substantial contribution during the league stage, replacing Phil Salt and developing a noteworthy relationship with Virat Kohli, even though he was unable to participate in the playoffs because of international obligations. Two performances during his brief IPL tenure, including a half-century against Chennai Super Kings where he opened the batting with Kohli, demonstrated Bethell's effect.

The young Englishman's meetings with Virat Kohli in the RCB dressing room proved to be very beneficial. Bethell talked about his experiences with the team and what he thought of the Indian cricket player.

"It's been great. [Virat] was unbelievable with helping me out, and even just the things he didn't say to me personally, but just watching how he goes about training and how he approaches things," Bethell said to Sky Cricket.

"Especially like chasing in a T20 game. That was unbelievable to watch and unbelievable to see first hand, just how easily he is able to shift up and down the gears and is able to template an innings depending on what is needed," the young cricketer elaborated.

In every format, Bethell's cricket career has shown promise. RCB defeated PBKS in Qualifier 1 at the same time that he scored an outstanding 82 runs against the West Indies in the first ODI. He went onto make significant contributions as England defeated West Indies 3-0 each in both ODI and T20I series.
