The ruling party in India, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), decided to troll Pakistan, which suffered huge damage at the hands of Indian armed forces in recent Operation Sindoor. The official X handle of the BJP posted a video of the bowl out between India and Pakistan in the 2007 T20 World Cup to do so.
India launched Operation Sindoor in reaction to the Pahalgam incident, in which 26 civilians were killed by terrorists in Kashmir on April 22. On May 7, India launched a retaliatory operation, targeting nine distinct areas in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), to remove terrorist elements in the region.
Despite Pakistan attacking India with cheap drones, India's air defense system and Air Force effectively repulsed the attack, destroying 11 of Pakistan's air bases and killing more than 50 people.
Following the operation, a truce was agreed upon on May 10, and tensions have since subsided.
BJP shared the video of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup bowl-out win over Pakistan to troll the neighbor’s loss in Operation Sindoor.
The video is from the 2007 T20 World Cup, when India defeated their arch opponents and were forced to play a bowl-off to decide the title.
India relied on Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, and Robin Uthappa for the first three efforts, all of which were successful. The Men in Green, on the other hand, missed their first three attempts, handing India the victory.
The short also compares Pakistani bowlers' missed stumps to missiles, whereas Indian bowlers' direct hits are referred to as 'India's missiles.
Sarcastically drawing parallels to Pakistan, the BJP quoted the clip of the bowl-out as "Kuch aisa tha #OperationSindoor" (it was something like this)”.
