Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were seen at the Mumbai airport as they returned from their short trip to Vrindavan, a day after Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket.
He made the announcement on Instagram and sent shockwaves through out the cricketing fraternity. This also came just a month before Indian team is set to fly to the UK for a five-Test series in England.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and wife Anushka Sharma spent some time in Vrindavan before returning to Mumbai on Tuesday night. In Mumbai, the right-handed batter and his spouse, Anushka Sharma, both touched base. At that moment, Kohli was mobbed by photographers, and one comment caught him off guard.
As soon as Kohli came out of the airport to make his way towards his car, one shutterbug said, "Kohli sir, hello. Aapne galat kiya, retirement kyun liya? Ab hum cricket he nahi dekhenge. Mai ab cricket nahi dekhunga. (You did wrong. Why did you take retirement? We won't watch cricket any longer. I won't see cricket."
Virat Kohli looked surprised by the comment for a second, but then resumed his poker face as he and Anushka went to their car and jetted off. Soon, Kohli will go to Bengaluru to join RCB team for the Indian Premier League's (IPL 2025) restart.
