Punjab Kings (PBKS) co-owner Preity Zinta on Monday (April 28) conducted a Q&A session on her official X (formerly Twitter) account.
During the session, the Bollywood actress was asked about the chat she had with star batter Virat Kohli after the IPL 2025 clash between PBKS and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Mullanpur on April 20.
Kohli produced a brilliant knock of 73 and was adjudged Player-of-the-Match as RCB avenged their loss to PBKS at home last week.
After the game, Kohli had a heartwarming conversation with Zinta and the pictures of their interaction went viral on social media.
A vide also emerged on the internet, where Kohli was seen scrolling his mobile phone and showing something to the PBKS co-owner.
During a Q&A session, a fan enquired Zinta about the chat she had with Kohli. To which, she replied: "We were showing each other pictures of our children & talking about them ! Time does fly... When I first met Virat 18 years ago, he was a spirited teenager buzzing with talent & fire - today he still has that fire & is an icon & a very sweet & doting father."
Another question that stood out was about PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer, with a fan asking for her views on him as a person and a leader.
In response, Zinta hailed Iyer as a "down-to-earth guy and an amazing captain." She added, "Very tactical and aggressive in his approach as a player, but the sweetest and the most soft-spoken guy."
She also revealed that Shreyas Iyer was Punjab Kings’ only captaincy candidate during the 2024 IPL auction.
"We are very happy that he is leading Punjab Kings and happier we could get him in the auction, as he was our first and only choice for captaincy. Therefore, the whole auction revolved around him for us as a team," Zinta wrote.
Under Shreyas Iyer's leadership, PBKS have kept themselves alive for the IPL 2025 playoffs race with five wins, a no result, and three defeats under their belt.
Punjab Kings currently sit fifth on the points table with 11 points from nine matches, just outside the top four. They will next face Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk on Wednesday (April 30).
