David Warner, a former Australian cricketer, was a shocking omission from the IPL 2025 mega-auction. The former SRH and DC captain went unsold, ending an illustrious IPL career.

Warner then entered the PSL 10 draft, was picked by the Karachi Kings for a record USD 300,000, and was immediately named the captain of the PSL 2025 season. He will make his tournament debut on Saturday as the Karachi Kings face the Multan Sultans.

Ahead of his team's first match, Warner addressed the media in Karachi when he was asked an unexpected question by a reporter.

According to the writer, several 'Indians' have mocked Warner for playing in the PSL after he was not selected for the IPL this year. However, Warner denied the reporter's claim, stating that it was the first time he had heard such a thing.

"This is the first I've heard of it. From my perspective, I want to play cricket. There's an opportunity to come to PSL. My international calendar didn't allow me to come to PSL due to the timings. Now, I want to compete, captain the Karachi Kings, and hopefully we are able to win the trophy," Warner said during the press conference.
