Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan is grabbing the headlines again, not for cricket but for his love life. After his divorce two years ago, rumors surrounding his affair surfaced when he was spotted with a mysterious woman during an ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match in Dubai.

As their pictures took the internet by storm, the woman was identified as Sophie Shine, who is from Ireland.

Recently, Dhawan opened up about his "new girlfriend" in a cheeky manner. The southpaw was asked about his personal life during an event and after being hesitant initially, he gave a hint.

Dhawan was granted divorce from his former wife, Ayesha Mukerji, by the Delhi Court in 2023 on the grounds of ‘cruelty’ and ‘mental agony’.

“Yes, I have moved on. I wouldn’t say I was unlucky in love—rather, my choices came from inexperience. But now, I have experience, and that will come in handy. It was a learning curve for me," Dhawan said.

“I am always in love!" Dhawan responded when asked if he’s ready to love again.

Dhawan showed his witty side when further quizzed over his new ladylove. “See, I know how to dodge bouncers in cricket, and I know you’re throwing one at me now. But I won’t get caught," he said.

“I will not take any name. But the most beautiful girl in the room is my girlfriend. Now you can figure it out," he added.

Ever since their separation, Ayesha shifted to Australia and took their son, Zoravar, with her and did not let Shikhar meet his son.

Shikhar Dhawan has been sharing heartfelt notes on social media, stating how he has been kept away from his son. Earlier in 2024, the southpaw talked about his ‘detached’ relationship with 10-year-old son.

“Wherever he is, I hope he is happy, hopefully one day he will come and see me. I am in love with him but at the same time, I am also detached. I don't want to push him. I write messages to him every day, I don't know whether he is receiving those or not, whether he is reading it or not. I don't have any expectations. I have accepted it. I am a father, and I am trying to do my duty. I miss him, I feel sad but I have learnt to live with it,” Dhawan had said in an interview with the Humans of Bombay in Janauy 2024.
