Abrar Ahmed, Pakistan's leg spinner, has found himself in the headlines once more, this time for a light-hearted confrontation with a supporter following a contentious send-off to India's Shubman Gill during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match in Dubai.

During that match, Abrar used a remarkable leg-break to dismiss a well-set Shubman Gill for 46. However, it was his animated send-off, gesturing for Gill to walk away, that generated outrage among Indian fans. Virat Kohli, on the non-striker's end, appeared stunned at the dismissal and send-off.

While Abrar was delighted, social media erupted with memes and jokes ridiculing the Pakistani spinner's exaggerated reaction.

Many fans thought his reaction was needless, especially given that India easily chased down Pakistan's 241-run total with Kohli's magnificent unbeaten century (100 not out of 111 balls).

In a viral video spreading on social media, a devoted fan addressed Abrar during Pakistan's series against New Zealand, challenging his actions against Gill. The event occurred during Pakistan's second ODI against New Zealand at Seddon Park.

A female fan addressed Abrar Ahmed, who was not in the playing XI, on the sidelines of the match, challenging his contentious dismissal of Shubman Gill.

Shubman Gill ko kya ishare kar rha tha (What were you signaling to Shubman Gill?)” the fan asked Abrar Ahmed, who sheepishly smiled and walked away.

Pakistan lost the second ODI to New Zealand by 84 runs and trail the 3-ODI series 0-2.
