India Masters, led by Sachin Tendulkar, clinched the International Masters League T20 2025 by beating the West Indies Masters in the final in Raipur on Sunday (March 16).
While the title clash was a lop-sided affair, it grabbed the headlines for an ugly altercation, involving Yuvraj Singh and Tino Best.
The spat between Yuvraj and Tino turned so ugly that West Indian skipper Brian Lara had to intervene to calm down his teammate. Yuvraj batting partner Ambati Rayudu was also seen asking the pacer to calm down.
The incident unfolded at the end of the 13th over as India were cruising in the chase of 149. Yuvraj was batting on 7 at this point.
The on-field duel began when Tino Best finished his over and attempted to leave the field, possibly due to an injury concern. However, Yuvraj Singh raised the issue with the umpire, prompting Billy Bowden to seemingly call Best back to the middle.
Unhappy with Yuvraj’s act, the West Indian quick charged at the Indian all-rounder, who stood his ground. The duo had a war of words as Lara and Rayudu also got involved.
“He (Tino Best) is someone who doesn’t back down. He is someone who likes to have a chat. Two players who don’t back down. That’s when you get an issue,” Former England pacer Darren Gough said on commentary.

Coming to the match, India Masters chased down the target with six wickets in hand and 17 deliveries to spare. Yuvraj Singh remained unbeaten on 13 while Ambati Rayudu stole the show with a knock of 74 in 50 balls.
