The India U19 Women's team successfully defended their ICC U19 T20 World Cup title, defeating South Africa in the tournament's final in Malaysia on Sunday, February 2, 2025. India won the tournament without losing any games.

South African captain Kayla Reyneke won the toss and decided to bat first. However, the Indian spinners perplexed the Proteas batters. Mieke van Voorst scored the most points with 23, followed by Jemma Botha (16) and Fay Cowling (15).

For India, Gongadi Trisha grabbed 3/15, with Aayushi Shukla, Vaishnavi Sharma, and Parunika Sisodia each taking two wickets.

In response, Reyneke dismissed G. Kamalini for 8 runs to boost hopes, but G. Trisha also shone with the bat, scoring 44* with 8 fours, and Sanika Chalke (26*) combined 48* for the second wicket as India triumphed by 9 wickets.

Gongadi Trisha received Player of the Match for her three wickets and 44*, as well as Player of the Series for her 309 runs and 7 wickets in India's successful campaign.

The cricket fraternity was all praises for the young Indian women cricketers who successfully defended India’s U19 T20 World Cup crown.
