Day 2 of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match between Railways and Delhi at the Arun Jaitley Stadium was a much-awaited one for the fans, who were hoping to see their favorite Virat Kohli bat.

Railways were bowled out for 241 runs on day one and Delhi were to resume their innings from 41/1 and soon the time came when Yash Dhull was dismissed LBW and Virat Kohli came out to bat. The crowd went crazy as the ace batter walked out in the middle.

Kohli showed a glimpse of his brilliance with a beautiful straight drive off Himanshu Sangwan just a ball before his dismissal. However, the 15th ball he faced in his innings proved to be fatal for Kohli.

Himanshu Sangwan angled a delivery into Virat Kohli, who attempted to play a flashy drive, but the ball moved into him sharply and sent the off-stump cartwheeling. Kohli was clean bowled by Sangwan for 6 runs and his dismissal quietened the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The thousands of fans who had gone to the stadium in anticipation of a Kohli masterclass were disappointed. The fans began leaving the stadium in droves after Kohli got out and videos of swarms of fans leaving the facility went viral on social media.

However, there is still a chance for redemption: if Delhi gets a second innings, Kohli will have another chance to leave his imprint.
