Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) trolled Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad with a funny dig on social media. This came after a few weeks back, Gaikwad had made a humorous remark about RCB during an event in Bengaluru.
When a microphone malfunctioned as he was going to speak, Gaikwad jokingly accused RCB of the problem, eliciting amusement from the audience. The mike had been mistakenly switched off by the sound staff, prompting the host to intercede, asking, "How can you turn off Ruturaj's mic?"
With a cheeky smile, Gaikwad said, "Might be someone from the RCB." The amusing quip instantly became popular on social media, with followers sharing it worldwide.
Meanwhile, the RCB fans tried their best to get back at Gaikwad since then, with them sharing videos of RCB knocking CSK out from the race for the playoff in IPL 2024 .
But in the end, it was the RCB social media team, who got back at the CSK captain by making a witty remark on social media, involving their new signing in IPL 2025, Jitesh Sharma.
They posted a clip from the Vijay Hazare Trophy match between Vidarbha and Maharashtra on Thursday. Vidarbha, after being asked to bat first, posted 380 runs with openers Dhruv Shorey and Yash Rathod scoring centuries and adding 224 runs for the first wicket. Karun Nair then made 88* and Jitesh Sharma made 51 in 33 balls to power Vidarbha to 380/5 in 50 overs.
In response, Darshan Nalkande bounced out Ruturaj Gaikwad for just 7 runs and keeper Jitesh Sharma took a fine running and diving catch.
RCB shared the video posted by BCCI X handle and captioned it: “It is someone from RCB. Jitesh doing what he does best.”
