Dinesh Karthik delivered a one-handed stunner for the Paarl Royals in the SA20 on Wednesday, January 15.
Karthik made history as the first Indian player to play in the SA20, replacing Jos Buttler. The Indian wicketkeeper has been in all of the Royals' matches thus far and justified his selection on Wednesday with a spectacular catch.
Karthik took a wonderful catch to dismiss Azmatullah Omarzai off Dayyaan Galiem's bowling in the fifth over of the encounter, bringing an end to MI Cape Town's menacing opening wicket stand.
Galiem hit a beautiful delivery to Omarzai, who squared up the Afghan batter and got the outside edge. Karthik's catch was unique in that he began by moving to his left and then dived to his right to complete the effort.
The ball might pop out of Karthik's hands, but the Indian wicketkeeper demonstrated excellent mental fortitude to complete the catch. This surely left the fans and analysts in amazement.

During the Paarl Royals innings, Dinesh Karthik was run out for 10 runs, while Lhuan-dre Pretorius’ 52-ball 83 runs took them to victory by 6 wickets over MI Cape Town. This was the second time in two matches Karthik was run out.
Previously, Karthik was run out 2 runs, also against MICT in the 6th match of the tournament. Paarl Royals were chasing 173 to win, but only managed 139/9.
This was mentioned by a fan on social media site X and Dinesh Karthik quoted the post and facepalmed.
