The Big Cricket League 2024, which is being played at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat, saw unbelievable scenes as batters survived in the most incredible way possible.
The entire cricket community was abuzz about a strange occurrence involving Chirag Gandhi, a batter for the UP Brij Stars. Batting at 98 in a tight over against MP Tigers spinner Pawan Negi, Chirag Gandhi was doomed to return to the pavilion when a delivery struck the stumps.
In a twist of fate, the bails remained in place despite the crowd's gasps even as the stumps were rattled significantly. According to cricket rules, Chirag Gandhi won since the batter is not out as long as the bails were in place.
The umpires gathered to have a chat with the bowling side and after deliberation, Gandhi was allowed to continue his innings.

With luck on his side, Chirag went on to score a superb century, making what could have been his dismissal the BCL's highlight in Surat.
Gandhi's gallant undefeated century, however, did not save the UP Brij Stars from a severe defeat, as the MP Tigers smashed them by 71 runs in the Big Cricket League 2024's sixth match on December 15.
