Virat Kohli, who celebrated his 36th birthday on November 5 recently, was left borderline embarrassed as a crowd at an event sang ‘Happy Birthday” for him.
Kohli was a guest at an HSBC event in Mumbai and received a standing ovation when he took the stage. But before he could get started, the anchor, Gaurav Kapoor, decided to get the audience engaged.
He asked everyone in attendance whether they wanted to wish their favorite Kohli a happy birthday, to which the crowd enthusiastically answered.
Kohli couldn't help but blush as the crowd spontaneously chanted 'Happy Birthday', stuck between shame and thankfulness. His expressions were a mix of astonishment and excitement as he took in the moment.
He eventually grinned and thanked the audience for their kind gesture before proceeding with the ceremony.
Here is the video:
Kohli received a cute public birthday message from his wife Anushka Sharma, which marked his son Akaay's debut appearance on Instagram, but altogether, it was one of Virat's favorite birthdays for a variety of reasons.
"This was probably the most chilled-out birthday I've had through all these years. It was just Anushka (Sharma) and our two kids at home. It was very relaxed. The birthday was basically for my daughter. Happens so when you have kids. I don't know about being wiser, but I'm older for sure," Kohli said.
Kohli will next be seen in action when India takes on Australia in a five-Test series starting on November 22.
