Shan Masood-led Pakistan side defeated England in the third and final Test in Rawalpindi to earn their first Test series win at home since 2021.
England won the toss and chose to bat first in the third Test in Rawalpindi and managed 267 runs on a turning track. Ben Duckett and Jamie Smith made fifties, while Sajid Khan took 6 wickets and Noman Ali took three.
Pakistan responded with 344 with Saud Shakeel scoring 134 and valuable contributions by Sajid Khan and Noman Ali with the bat. England was then bowled out for 112 in the second innings with Noman taking six and Sajid Khan taking 4 wickets.
Pakistan then chased down the 36-run target with 9 wickets in hand. This victory also handed them the Test series win by 2-1. Saud Shakeel won the Player of the Match for his century and Sajid Khan won the Player of the Series for his 19 wickets.
This was the first time since 2021, Pakistan won a Test series at home.
However, former cricketer Ramiz Raja couldn’t help but taunt captain Shan Masood about him losing his first six Tests as Men in Green skipper.
Speaking to Masood after the match, Ramiz Raja mocked him by asking: "Aapne 6 losses in a row kaise achieve kiya? (How did you achieve six losses in a row?)”
"Ramiz bhai, we needed this win, the nation needed this win and I'm really happy that Pakistan won." replied Shan Masood gracefully.
