Marnus Labuschagne is known for his quirks while batting, fielding, and even captaining a side. This time, his quirkiness was seen in the ongoing Sheffield Shield, where he is captaining Queensland against Western Australia at Perth.

After Queensland won the toss and chose to field, Michael Neser gave his team the perfect start. He removed the top order of Cameron Bancroft (0), Jayden Goodwin (0), and Mitchell Marsh (13).

Then WA captain Sam Whiteman and wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis added 203 runs together to lead the fightback. Both the batters scored centuries and in an attempt to break through, Marnus Labuschagne brought himself to bowl.

On Day 1, in the 66th over, Labuschagne came up to bowl his second over and instructed one of his colleagues to stand just behind the umpire, which was unusual. This stunned the on-field umpire, and Labuschagne then grabbed his teammates by the pants and pushed him to the umpire's left side.

Inglis was on the striker's end and refused to be distracted. Labuschagne then sent a bouncer, which Inglis easily ducked beneath. Commentators referred to the move as a 'brain fade' fielding position.
