Babar Azam in pain after being hit by Khurram Shahzad delivery in groin

Ace Pakistan batter Babar Azam was seen grimacing in pain during a batting session ahead of the two-Test series against Bangladesh. The two Tests will be valuable for both teams as they are part of the World Test Championship (WTC 2025).

Before the first Test against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team, the Pakistan National Cricket Team reassembled and began preparations. The Shan Masood-led side was spotted putting heavy yards into the nets in what will be their first Test series since January of this year.

Going into the series, the main focus will be on Babar Azam, the leading batter. The right-hander will be a major role for the side in the next Test series against Bangladesh. The spotlight will be on him because the team will rely heavily on him with the bat.

On Thursday (15th August), Azam was spotted working hard in the nets. However, the right-hander was delivered a harsh blow while batting. In the viral footage, the Pakistan captain was whacked in the box and appeared to be in excruciating pain. He was down on his knees and took some time to get back up.

Babar missed a inswinger from Khurram Shahzad and was struck on his groin and folded in pain. Shahzad was seen running up to Babar to check on him. After pausing and doing a few stretches, Babar resumed only to be cleaned by the young pacer.
