Former Bengal cricketer Shreevats Goswami has advised Rishabh Pant to get rid of his PR team after a bizarre post regarding Neeraj Chopra was made from the Indian wicketkeeper’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

Notably, India's golden boy Neeraj is all set for the final of the javelin throw event at the ongoing Paris Olympics on Thursday (August 8).

Neeraj, who won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, set the stage on fire with a monstrous throw of 89.34 meters in his first attempt during the qualification round at Stade De France on Tuesday (August 6).

As a result, Neeraj Chopra secured a spot in the final. His brilliance in the qualification round has increased the hopes of fans for another golden moment.

Ahead of the javelin throw final, Pant promised that he would reward a lucky winner with Rs 100089 if Neeraj wins the gold medal.

"If Neeraj Chopra wins a gold medal tomorrow, I will pay 100089 Rupees to a lucky winner who likes the tweet and comments the most. And for the rest, the top 10 people trying to get attention will get flight tickets. Let’s get support from India and outside the world for my brother," Pant tweeted.

His post went viral and led to a flurry of similar promises from fans. However, it was not appreciated by Shreevats Goswami.

Shreevats replied to the post saying, "I am confused ? Yeh sab kya chal raha hai ? Rishabh , you need to get rid of your PR mere bhai .."

Talking about Rishabh Pant, he was part of the Indian team that toured Sri Lanka for a white-ball series, which culminated on Wednesday (August 7).

While the southpaw featured in all three T20Is against the hosts, he warmed the bench in the first two ODIs before getting a chance in the last 50-over match.

Pant registered scores of 49, 2* and 6 from the three innings he batted on the tour of Sri Lanka.
