Ravi Shastri, former India cricketer and head coach, has started the buildup for the Paris Olympics 2024. When it comes to the Olympics, athletes, whether active and retired, are equally excited.

Another Summer Olympics is almost here, with the official opening ceremony on July 26 in Paris, where 117 Indian competitors will compete for the elusive medal, particularly gold.

India's campaign will begin with archery, with the ranking rounds taking place on Thursday, a day before the Games officially open with the Opening Ceremony along the scenic Seine River in the heart of Paris.

"In less than 36 hours, the greatest show on earth is just about to begin. All eyes will be on Paris and the curtains will go up at Olympics 2024, where you will have hundreds of athletes from all around the globe competing for that exclusive medal. It is one medal, the gold medal, that tops the list for all sportspersons, irrespective of which sport they play.” Said Shastri in a video on his X account.

“Go and ask a tennis player, go and ask a basketball player. They might be making millions around the globe in various leagues, but when it comes to the Olympic Games, those are the medals they are chasing.

Can't wait to be there! It's going to light up Paris in less than 36 hours. But let me assure you, the stake will just get bigger and higher. Go for it!" he concluded.
