Having made his international debut in January 2016, India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has come a long way. He is widely regarded as the best fast bowler across formats in contemporary cricket.

Recently, Bumrah played a key role in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. He was lethal with the new ball and nailed his yorkers to perfection in the death overs, finishing the tournament with 15 wickets to his name at an economy of 4.50 to earn the Player-of-the-Tournament award.

Bumrah was the one who bowled two excellent overs at the death when South Africa looked like chasing 30 runs off 30 balls in the final. He gave just 6 runs for one wicket in those two overs and the Proteas couldn’t handle the pressure.

With his exceptional performances in all forms of the game, Jasprit Bumrah has inspired a generation of aspiring cricketers to take up fast bowling.

On Monday (July 15), a video went viral on social media, in which a young boy from Pakistan can be seen imitating Bumrah’s distinctive bowling action flawlessly.

From the quirky run-up to the precise delivery stride, the imitation is near-perfect. The viral video also drew reaction from Pakistan pace legend Wasim Akram.

"Wah jee wah, look at that control and action exactly like the great @Jaspritbumrah93. Video of the day for me. #crickethavenoboundaries," Akram wrote on X.

Whether it's Tests, ODIs, or T20Is, Jasprit Bumrah is in a league of his own. The right-arm quick has been in fine form, especially since his comeback from the back surgery last year.

Bumrah was instrumental in India’s Asia Cup 2023 triumph and then made the batters dance to his tunes in the ODI World Cup at home.

Bumrah carried on his brilliance to Test cricket on the tour of South Africa and in the home series against England. He was among the leading wicket-takers in IPL 2024 as well, claiming 20 scalps in 13 matches at an economy rate of 6.48.
